Additional Resource Facilities

OMRF Clinical Resources Unit

Two clinical facilities are available at OMRF. One is a state-of-the-art, 7,000 sq foot, multidisciplinary research center on the first floor of the OMRF Research Tower. This facility has 9 exam rooms, reception area, file rooms, pharmacy, dedicated phlebotomy space, infusion suite, counseling offices, and conference and monitor rooms. A second clinical space is located on the first floor of the OMRF Chapman East wing. Through a recent renovation, this clinic now has a total of 8 examination rooms and additional space for clinical coordinators. Registry and Repository Unit

Samples are stored, managed, and distributed through the OMRF Biorepository. The OMRF Biorepository is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), which is the leading biorepository accreditation and proficiency agency (CAP accreditation #9418302). CAP compliance requires detailed documentation of all processes and procedures and rigid adherence to extraordinarily high standards, ensuring sample integrity and downstream experimental reproducibility. Please see the Biorepository website for a full description of the facilities, services, and collections.

 OMRF Translational Informatics Resources

The OMRF Translational Informatics group provides data management for the OMRF Biorepository and Clinical Data Storage facility and curates the data for use in research. With the appropriate permissions and authorizations, these data are made available to investigators to develop and test new hypotheses.

The following facilities/groups also assist in gathering data for research use:

Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI)

OBI has developed a web-based interface for recruiting OBI donors to participate in clinical and translational research. Through the Clinical Resources Core, OSCTR investigators can use this resource to recruit individuals with common health conditions as well as healthy controls. The OBI is the ninth largest non-profit blood center in the US, with more than 125,000 donors annually. OBI also manages Oklahoma’s only marrow donor registry site and one of only 25 cord blood centers worldwide.
