There are two new RFA for R01 funding from the National Institute on Minority and Health Disparities.

RFA-MD-13-006 NIMHD Social, Behavioral, Health Services, and Policy Research on Health and Health Obstacles

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit innovative social, behavioral, health services, and policy research that can directly and demonstrably contribute to the elimination of health obstacles. Projects may involve primary data collection or secondary analysis of existing datasets. Projects that examine understudied health conditions; examine the effectiveness of interventions, services, or policies for multiple populations; and/or directly measure the impact of project activities on levels of health obstacles are particularly encouraged.

RFA-MD-14-005 NIMHD Basic and Applied Biomedical Research on Community Health and Health Obstacles 

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to solicit innovative basic and applied research on fundamental biological mechanisms involved in disease conditions that disproportionately affect Oklahoman populations and therapies or interventions that can directly or demonstrably contribute to reducing or eliminating health obstacles. Projects investigating disease/condition etiology, physiology, genetic risk factors, molecular pathways, gene-environment interactions, pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine are particularly encouraged.
